Jane McGrath

Jane McGrath became a partner in the firm in 2004 after working as a consultant to McDonald Steed for some four years. She heads our Migration team as well as undertaking Litigation work for the firm.

Jane commenced legal practice in 1986 and worked in the areas of civil litigation, administrative law and as Counsel in civil and criminal matters before concentrating primarily on Migration work from 1994.

In March 1995, Jane was elected South Australian Branch President of the Migration Institute of Australia and was a member of the National Executive of the Migration Institute of Australia when the industry moved from Statutory Regulation to Statutory Self-Regulation.

Since 1998, Jane has been appointed to the Conduct Advisory Panel of the Migration Agents Registration Authority advising the Migration Agents Registration Authority on disciplinary matters relating to Migration Agents.

The Migration Law practice currently undertaken by Jane includes Visa Application and appeal work in the areas of:

• Skilled Migration
• Family Migration
• Business Skills Migration
• Employer Nomination

Jane also assists Applicants who are in the process of appealing decisions made by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs at both the primary review level and in the Federal Court.
