Skilled Visas

There are several options for applicants wishing to migrate to Australia based on their level of skill and experience in particular occupations. The options include both permanent and temporary visas, as well as independent and sponsored categories. Applicants who meet the following basic criteria may be able to apply to live in Australia with their families:

• Skills and experience in a nominated occupation
• Under 45 years of age
• Command of the English language
• Good health and character

Special rules apply to overseas students studying in Australia which may exempt those applicants from having any relevant work experience.

Applicants willing to live in regional areas or who have relatives in Australia may be able to apply under sponsored categories which may make the process easier.
